Public art, illustration, theater— it’s all storytelling.

Keri King is an artist based in Providence, Rhode Island. Immersive visual storytelling and collaborative world building are at the core of her work, with a vibrant creative practice that spans the disciplines of public art, illustration, writing, and design for theater. For over a decade, she has worked with a dynamic assortment of Rhode Island-based organizations to produce public-facing artwork, including AS220, the Steel Yard, Providence Art, Culture & Tourism, the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts, and the Wilbury Theatre Group, among others. King is the recipient of a Curatorial Fellowship with Creature Conserve (2025-2026) and a Creative Research Fellowship at Providence Public Library (2017).

In addition to her art practice, Keri is a seasoned educator who has implemented general art curricula and designed specialized programming and for schools and non-profits serving youth, including Providence City Arts (2010-14), Vartan Gregorian Elementary (2013, I Was There Program), and the Wolf School (2013-2021). From 2022-2025, Keri translated her passion for multi-disciplinary arts into department leadership as Director of Visual and Performing Arts at the Gordon School.

As her art practice and teaching continue to evolve in conversation with one another, a pedagogy of play and inclusive, multi-modal inquiry have become essential components of King’s work, both in the classroom and in her art studio.

Keri holds a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design, where she studied Illustration and Literary Arts.
