Public art, illustration, theater— it’s all storytelling.

Keri King is a cross-disciplinary artist based in Providence, Rhode Island. Immersive storytelling and collaborative world building are at the core of her work, with a vibrant creative practice that spans the disciplines of public art, illustration, and design for theater. Over the past 10 years, she has worked with a dynamic assortment of Rhode Island-based organizations to produce public-facing artwork, including AS220, Providence Art, Culture & Tourism, the Steel Yard, the Dirt Palace, and the Wilbury Theatre Group. In 2023, Keri’s practice stretched across the Atlantic Ocean to include the installation of several murals in a private residence in Rome, Italy.

In addition to her art practice, Keri is a devoted educator. As Director of Visual and Performing Arts at the Gordon School— a progressive, all-gender independent school in East Providence, King translates her passion for multi-disciplinary arts into department leadership. Prior to Gordon, Keri dedicated eight years of teaching Visual Art and Integrated Arts to students at the Wolf School, a private special education school for students ages pre-Kindergarten through 8th Grade.

As her art practice and teaching continue to evolve in conversation with one another, a pedagogy of play and inclusive, multi-modal inquiry have become essential components of King’s work, both in the classroom and in her art studio.
